It is pretty simple: the higher, farther and straighter the ball can go, the easier everything else will be in your recruiting. This chapter is going to look at exactly what metrics specialists should be able to hit by desired division and a few ideas on how you physically might be able to boost your stock as a recruit.

Note: These numbers are based off of use of TrackMan Football’s kicking tracking technology NFL Sunday and Thursday Night Football use and the data I’ve collected off of by various division levels from the different specialists I work with.

FBS Specialists

Scholarship FBS

• KO: 75+ yards 4.0 Hang
• FG: 60+ yards off ground 85% in game.
• P: 50+ yards 5.0+ hang ability.

PWO FBS OR Scholarship FCS

• KO: 65-70 yards 3.75 Hang
• FG: 55+ yards off ground 70% in game.
• P: 45+ yards 4.75+ hang ability.

PWO FCS OR DII Scholarship

• KO: 65 yards KO 3.5 Hang
• FG: 52+ yards off ground 60% in game.
• P: 42+ yards 4.4 hang ability.

PWO DII or DIII Starter

• KO: 55-60 yards 3.5 Hang
• FG: 45+ yards off ground.
• P: 38+ yards 3.8 hang ability
