The first DM you get back from a coach will probably be something nebulous and unclear like: “Love what I’m seeing we’d definitely love to have you out at camp!” So, your job is to then test this coach’s interest by swiftly taking the conversation OFF Twitter and onto the phone via a template like this:

Coach, I’d love to come out, compete and learn more. Might you be free sometime after 7pm tonight or tomorrow? If so, what might a good number be to reach you at? Mine is XXX-XXX-XXXX. Thanks and looking forward to catching up. - FIRST NAME

Don’t be afraid to be specific with a time and day. The more specific you are the better.
